Living the scriptures
With so much that has changed in the last several weeks. It gives us things to reflect and ponder on. Over a month ago many of us had our lives change over night. Things that were suppose to be always available were now gone. Some can no longer go to work, parks are closed, schools closed and cancelled, no one can go to church, and most businesses have been shut done unable to open. Stores that are allowed to be open are running low or are out of many things we took for granite. Now people are trying to figure out how to feed their families, pay their bills, mortgages/rent. People are stealing and fighting each other for what another has in their basket because it is something they want and need. Many people are just trying to figure out how they are going to survive, not just getting sick and how to keep everything afloat with no money coming in. What are we facing?? A world wide shut down that started with a serious respiratory virus called COVID19, which started in China and has spread throughout the world. We have had earthquakes in some of the most unlikely places in the USA, among other countries 5.0 and higher. Locus that are eating the crops and tormenting the people in Africa. Just to name a few. We are now wrestling with the governments hand in controlling the people, through fear and uncertain health reports. Many at their mercy to feed their families, and keep their homes financially.
What are your thoughts with all this?
Mine... Well the first thing that comes to my mind is " put your seat belts on and hold on tight, you are in for a bumpy ride"!

I have likened this to birth. When a woman's body is preparing we go through many contractions that are what we call false alarms. It is getting her body ready for the real thing. Then once in labor it gets harder and stronger and the time between each contraction gets shorter and shorter till it feels like it's none stop till it's time for the birth.
I look at this as the same thing. We were in the beginning stages.. getting prepared for what is to come. We are now on our way to the hospital to have the baby... take a deep breath because we have more contractions coming..
We are living what the scriptures testified would come and it is in our day. We are living in the day that we have been reading in the scriptures. The time, Daniel, Isaiah, Jesus,Paul, John, Nephi (just to name a few) who saw and prophesied about.
So as we call this a test run of what is coming, the question we should ask is are we ready? What have we learned? The alarm has sounded. Are you awake? Are you aware? Are you taking this last chance to get your house in order?
I would encourage you to read D&C29 and 88 and prepare as our wonderful prophet has been preparing us for. To become a people of Zion to build a place of safety where the lord can dwell.
