Would you deny him?
So this might be a bit far out there but I have been studying the scriptures and when I have spare time I'm even listening or reading books that speak of how to be closer to our Father in Heaven and Jesus Christ. After listening (audiobooks) to something today I started thinking about what happened a few years ago when we were being told about all the Christians that were being beheaded because of their faith and being a Christian. They were asked to deny and as we saw many stood strong. I wondered if it was here ( in the U.S.) how many would stand strong and how many would think it was no big deal to deny? All you had to do is deny Christ in order to live or in order for the people you love to live would you do it? Could you deny Jesus Christ as your lord and savior to save your children your spouse your grandchildren or even you?? These temporary lives here on earth?
I thought long and hard.. picturing my children, my sweet grand children, my parents, my siblings, niece and nephews. My best friend and very loved husband. (Yes I was crying most of the morning thinking of these scenarios)
I could never deny my savior no matter how hard it got no matter what the consequences were because I know what happens after this life. Life here on Earth is only temporary we have eternity on the other side. Based on our choices is how we live out our eternity. I hear often "God would understand". Question is would you be ok when the Lord gives judgment and says I hope you understand?🤔 I think many hold far too tightly on that very comment. The Lord gives us laws and Commandments to follow. He gives fogiveness, understanding, compassion and mercy for all of us. In order for us to recieve our eternal blessings he expects us to follow what he has given us to return to him ( our savior, scriptures, prophets, prayer, etc.). I am so grateful for my Lord and Savior for his example and his unconditional love that he has for each and everyone of us. Because of that love, he has given us the atonement. I could never deny him giving into the fear that the adversary himself is displaying through the kind of evil and trickery that has/will happen. Just to try and have me give up my eternal glory and happiness to be with my father in heaven, Jesus Christ and my family again. We live in scary times my friends and it is going to get worse, but never lose faith and never give up your faith for such temporary pleasures of the world and be blinded by the justifications that the adversary will make you believe is ok. He is trying to keep you back from all the lord has waiting for you. The lord loves you.
When I posted this there was a response which said "Can you deny but know in your heart you could never actually deny but to save your children from torture? That's difficult because I can't imagine heavenly father ever believing I would deny him. Hard question. Difficult. I think it matters what's in your heart and heavenly father knows what's in your heart. Saying the words doesn't make it true. HUM??? I COULDN'T IMAGINE WATCHING my kids suffer if by uttering some fake words it would end. Idk??? I think I would be sorely upset if I find out it was a test and I failed the test".
My response to this was:
"Isn't that what this life is, a series of lessons and trails (test) to strengthen our spiritual selves? If only to prepare us for what is to come. Why would this be any different? Death is nothing more than us walking into another room. Returning home to our father is not terrible. It is glorious. If we do not learn and grown to allow our spiritual selves be more in control than the natural man we will have missed out on what it is to be like Christ in all things. To be able to with stand even the worst of things we must be firm unwavering in our faith, belief and devotion to our father in heaven and Jesus Christ.
On a side note. To face such evil. Do you think they would let them go? Let you go? They would probably kill them anyway and you would have lost your faith too.
Death is only a end to this world but it is a opportunity to go home where all our spirits long to be.
Matthew 10:33
"But whoever denies Me before men, I will also deny him before My Father who is in heaven.
When you have ALL that you have and even more right at your finger tips of knowing and understanding even more then most.. letting go of your family for a short time to stand firm and return to them for eternity is a no brainer when the spirit is the one who it's making more of the decisions then the natural man".
