Are we prepared to hear?
Friend of mine posted this.. thought you might enjoy:
I believe we are all presently wondering what the impact will be in association with the happenings of 2020. Why have the leaders of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints been so quite with all that is happening in our country and in the World?
Richard Draper a scholar of the Book of Revelation and a BYU faculty member has made some intriguing statements regarding these times we are all living in. Let’s look at a few of them.
Between now and the time we will be called to build Zion-we will become more and more vulnerable as a people and nation.
Why are our church leaders not saying much about these times and what is happening to our country?
Why is there so much evil, dissention and conflict ever present in the world?
Why is the Priesthood and leadership not stepping in with miracles and divine intervention to stop this ever-present evil, disruption and divisiveness?
Why are they not speaking out more and warning us of what is soon coming upon us and the Church?
Why is it that the Church leaders do not march forth in strong defense of the Saints, rising up to condemn the nations of their evil and like the prophets did of old, stop it with power and authority, the authority of the priesthood?
Why are our Prophets and revelators quietly, doing the inner work of the kingdom-rather than battling for righteousness by buying huge prime time slots of TV and radio telling the world of what they need to do to turn this all around and stop this proliferation of selfishness, violence, destruction, nonsense, and greed?
Why are we not contending with powers and principalities, to stop this wickedness and return our societies to a more normal, kinder and peaceful state?
Could the reality be that we are now living in the one thousand and two hundred and sixty days when the beast walks the land?
Are we now in the time, times and half of times, when the three and ½ years commence?
Are we in the midst of the forty-two months where we learn to be still and know that God is God and Jesus is our Savior and Redeemer and King?
Could it be that evil really is to have its day and the upper hand, to do its work almost unhindered, (at least for the time being?)
It certainly seems the path of the church is not to actively fight against Babylon or to put her down, but to wait upon the Lord to fulfill his purposes as promised.
We know that Babylon is to grow fat, fully ripe and to grow more and more arrogant and strong; and to remain ignorant until the day of her destruction is upon her.
Our job now seems to be to flee Babylon, to repent and gather Israel through the preaching of the gospel, to strive to perfect ourselves through his atonement and his sacrifice, to redeem our dead and truly build Zion.
The only task given the Saints in the Book of Revelation is to worship God and not the beast, to endure in faith, to maintain virtue, to withstand the persecution that are and will continue to come upon us, and preach the gospel by word, example and deed. God laid out the plan for this world before it was created, and Jesus Christ is presently carrying out that plan in flawless detail. We have been warned far too often. Now is our test to discover if we were warned sufficiently and see if we will now give heed to the warnings we have received.
