Are we listening??

September 8, 2022

Are we listening? Have you ever poundered on how many times the lord listens to your prayers when we pray to help, to watch over and to protect you and answers your requests? Most times our days go without incident but then we have those days. Things like the car won't start, or a series of events that happen you cant explain. We chalk it up to a bad or a strange day and don't really think much more of it. Have you ever thought it was lord answering your prayers to keep you from harm?
More time than I can count have I had a thought, feeling or even a voice say something and because I was obedient to those promptings he was answeringmy prayers. There are incidents that I find out later why but there are other promptings I never know.
In the end I know it was because my father in heaven was placing me where I needed to be either for my sake or for the sake of another.
Yesterday my husband and I had planned and anticipated a nice 4 day camping trip up in the Mountains to get out of this heat.  Yesterday we started with a couple hiccups but the night was clear the temperature was cool and all was well on its way to a nice few well deserved, relaxing days together. As we were into our conversation I told my husband I felt as if something was off. Something just didn't feel right. Then it began... our generator went from running fine to stopping.  We had assumed it ran out of gas. Our dogs were both acting strange. The refrigerator was cooling and then went to clicking trying to ignite. The battery went from working to dead.
At 1am my husband realized there was plenty of gas in the generator and we decided to start it back up for the battery to recharge and the fridge to work. But the generator wouldn't start. As I laid in bed, listening to my husband trying to get the gene to start, I herd " you need to go home". Just then my husband gets the generator going strong. I respond to the voice in my head and said.. " ok if this doesn't work we will go home".
My husband came in the camper lied down next to me and said " If this doesnt work we will go home..now". As soon as he said those words the generator shut off. We looked at each other and at the same time said " we need to leave now". At 2 am it took us 20 min to pack up and were home and laying our heads down in our bed at 4am.This may be one of those times we will never know why and thats okay because I  trust God and his hands in my life.  I am grateful for those days both smooth and crazy because in the end he is always watching over me.
